Parveen Shakir or Parvin Shakir (Urdu: پروین شاکر) (24 November 1952 – 26 December 1994) was an Urdu poet, teacher and a civil servant of the Government of Pakistan.

Agha Nasir was considered by many people in Pakistan, as a 'living encyclopedia' of the broadcasting history in Pakistan. Her music is popular in Afghanistan, Tajikistan and among Pashtuns in Pakistan. She is considered to be the greatest female artist in Afghanistan and continues to be the voice and face of Pashtun traditional music. He is widely credited as being one of the most original and inventive music directors of his generation. He was the Programme Producer (Music) at (AIR), All India Radio or (Akashvani (radio broadcaster)), Delhi in 1939. His birth name was Akhtar Ali which he changed to Hameed Akhtar in high school.
